The TorTalk story of Niklas Bäckström
Student of Sustainable Technology of KTH.
I can say: without TorTalk, it would be impossible for me to consume enough text to fulfil my academic studies.
I have been using TorTalk for one year through the KTH library. Earlier, my reading capability was slow. For example: reading one page could take me 20 minutes. I was frustrated and tired of reading, but I never gave up. After my dyslexia diagnosis, I got text-to-speech software to help me, and my reading capability improved significantly. Now it takes me just minutes to read a page. It has become much easier for me.
TorTalk is very fast to start and super easy to use. The OCR function is super good and helps me to read the text in pictures. There is a function which skips all the references (within parenthesis). This makes research documents much easier to comprehend. I use TorTalk every day to read online news articles and course literature. I use my eyes and ears simultaneously when reading; this makes it easier for me to follow the text and thus increases comprehensibility significantly. I can say: without TorTalk, it would be impossible for me to consume enough text to fulfil my academic studies.
We would love to hear your story; please share it with us.
